This Charlestown renovation was a tall order. A 19th century home needed new life with an open concept kitchen living room and a new powder room on the first floor. The clients requests included maximizing natural light and including historic & traditional elements mixed with a bit of glam and high function. A large center island with a table extension was added to maximize seating in the small first floor foot print. New windows were added, a skinny vertical approach to window design was taken to add as much natural light as possible while allowing for minimized sight lines to close city neighbors. A side full panel patio door was added for access and more light. Adding custom reclaimed beams and custom cabinetry elements took this kitchen from ordinary to multi-functional.
